Clubhouse Terms of Service

1. About Clubhouse

Clubhouse is a university community platform that allows students and clubs to:

• create and maintain profiles;
• discover and publish Events;
• discover and publish Opportunities;
• publish Club Posts;
• comment and reply;
• follow Clubs;
• connect with other students;
• indicate attendance or participation;
• save or interact with content;
• receive notifications;
• personalize content discovery; and
• use related community features.

Some Events, Opportunities, Club profiles, or other content may contain links to services operated by third parties.

Clubhouse does not become the organizer, employer, recruiter, ticket seller, payment processor, or provider of a third-party activity merely because information about it appears on Clubhouse.

2. Eligibility

Clubhouse is designed for university communities.

You may use Clubhouse only if you are legally permitted to use the service and enter into these Terms under the laws that apply to you.

If applicable law requires the authorization of a parent, guardian, or another person before you can agree to these Terms or use a service like Clubhouse, you may use Clubhouse only with that authorization.

Clubhouse does not currently verify every user’s age or collect date of birth for that purpose.

You may not use Clubhouse if you have been prohibited from using the service under applicable law or if your account has been disabled and you have not been authorized to return.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for your Clubhouse account and for activity performed through it.

You agree to:

• provide information that is reasonably accurate;
• keep account information reasonably current;
• use authentication credentials that you are authorized to use;
• take reasonable steps to protect access to your account; and
• notify Clubhouse if you believe your account has been compromised.

Clubhouse currently supports authentication through providers including Google and Apple.

You may not:

• access another person’s account without authorization;
• create an account using an identity you are not authorized to use;
• impersonate another person or organization;
• evade an account suspension or disabling action through another account; or
• misuse authentication, account-linking, or account-recovery systems.

4. Student and Club Accounts

Clubhouse supports different account types, including Student and Club accounts.

Student accounts

Student accounts may participate in social, discovery, Event, Opportunity, commenting, personalization, reporting, and other supported features.

You are responsible for information you provide through your Student profile and interactions.

Club accounts

A Club account may create and manage Club content such as Events, Opportunities, Club Posts, profile information, and external links.

The person operating a Club account represents that they are authorized to act for or manage the Club identity they use on Clubhouse.

Clubhouse does not independently guarantee that every Club is officially recognized, endorsed, or affiliated with a particular university unless Clubhouse expressly indicates that status.

5. Community Guidelines

Your use of Clubhouse must comply with our Community Guidelines: clubhouse.community/community-guidelines

The Community Guidelines form part of the rules governing your use of Clubhouse.

They prohibit conduct including harassment, hate, threats, child sexual abuse and exploitation, inappropriate sexual content, scams, impersonation, privacy violations, dangerous or illegal activity, intellectual-property violations, and abuse of Clubhouse’s safety tools.

Material updates to the Community Guidelines may require you to accept a newer version before continuing to create or upload content.

6. Your Content

“Your Content” means content you submit to Clubhouse, including profile information, Events, Opportunities, Club Posts, comments, replies, images, links, and other materials you choose to provide.

Except for rights you grant to Clubhouse under these Terms, you retain whatever ownership rights you have in Your Content.

You are responsible for Your Content.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions reasonably necessary to submit Your Content and allow Clubhouse to use it as described in these Terms.

Do not upload content if doing so would:

• violate another person’s intellectual-property rights;
• violate privacy or confidentiality obligations;
• misrepresent your authority;
• violate applicable law; or
• violate our Community Guidelines.

7. License You Give Clubhouse

To operate Clubhouse, you give Clubhouse a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, resize, convert, transmit, display, and distribute Your Content as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, moderate, promote, and operate the Clubhouse service.

This license allows Clubhouse, for example, to:

• store an uploaded image;
• create resized image versions;
• display a Club Post to users;
• show an eligible Event or Opportunity on the public Clubhouse website;
• transmit content through technical infrastructure needed to deliver the service;
• process applicable content through moderation systems;
• generate previews or metadata;
• make content available to users according to your settings and the product’s visibility rules; and
• maintain temporary technical copies such as caches or backups.

This license does not transfer ownership of Your Content to Clubhouse.

The license ends when Your Content is deleted from the active service, except to the extent temporary copies remain in backups, caches, safety records, or other systems for the limited periods described in our Privacy Policy, or where continued retention is reasonably required by law or for an active safety or enforcement matter.

8. Public Content

Some Clubhouse content is intentionally public.

Eligible Events and Opportunities may be displayed publicly on: clubhouse.community and may be accessible without a Clubhouse account.

If you publish content that is eligible for a public surface, information such as the Event or Opportunity title, description, image, dates, venue, address, price, and organizer information may become publicly available.

Public webpages may be:

• indexed by search engines;
• shared by users;
• cached by third parties; or
• copied outside Clubhouse.

Clubhouse cannot guarantee deletion of copies independently created or retained by unrelated third parties after content has been made public.

9. Events

Clubs may publish information about Events.

The Club or other organizer responsible for an Event is responsible for information such as:

• scheduling;
• location;
• capacity;
• eligibility;
• accessibility;
• pricing;
• registration requirements;
• payment requirements;
• cancellations;
• refunds; and
• the safety and operation of the Event.

Unless Clubhouse expressly states otherwise, Clubhouse does not organize, supervise, operate, insure, sponsor, or guarantee Events listed by users.

Attendance indicators within Clubhouse do not guarantee admission or availability.

Always review information provided by the actual organizer before attending an Event.

10. Opportunities

Clubs may publish Opportunities, including opportunities that direct users to external applications or services.

The Club or third party responsible for an Opportunity is responsible for its:

• accuracy;
• requirements;
• availability;
• selection process;
• deadlines;
• compensation or fees;
• external application process; and
• communications with applicants.

Clubhouse does not guarantee that an Opportunity will result in employment, membership, selection, compensation, or any other outcome.

11. External Registration, Application, and Payment Services

Clubhouse may display links to third-party services used for:

• Event registration;
• applications;
• ticketing;
• payments;
• Club websites; or
• other external activities.

When you follow an external link, you interact directly with the third-party service.

Clubhouse does not control that service’s terms, privacy practices, availability, security, fees, refund policies, or conduct.

Clubhouse currently does not process payment credentials for externally paid Events or Opportunities.

A price displayed on Clubhouse does not mean Clubhouse is the seller or payment processor.

Any indication within Clubhouse that you completed an external application or payment requirement may be based on information you provide and is not necessarily independently verified by Clubhouse.

12. Safety Moderation

Clubhouse uses automated and human moderation systems to help enforce these Terms and the Community Guidelines.

Certain submitted text and images may be processed by OpenAI for automated safety classification after the applicable permission has been provided.

Other text may be evaluated by moderation systems operated within Clubhouse’s infrastructure.

Automated moderation systems are not perfect and may incorrectly allow or reject content.

Clubhouse may reject, restrict, remove, mask, or archive content when it appears to violate our rules or presents a safety, legal, or operational concern.

13. Reporting and Blocking

Clubhouse provides reporting and blocking features for supported content and social interactions.

You may report content or accounts that you reasonably believe violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

Reports should be submitted in good faith.

Do not intentionally abuse reporting tools to harass, retaliate against, or manipulate moderation against another person.

Blocking features are intended to reduce unwanted interaction. Do not deliberately evade another user’s block.

14. Moderation and Enforcement

Clubhouse may investigate activity that appears to violate these Terms, the Community Guidelines, applicable law, or the safety and integrity of the service.

Depending on the circumstances, Clubhouse may:

• reject content before publication;
• remove, mask, or archive content;
• dismiss or resolve reports;
• restrict access to features;
• suspend an account;
• disable an account; or
• take other reasonable action necessary to operate or protect the service.

We may consider factors such as severity, context, risk of harm, repeated behavior, and relevant account or content history.

We do not guarantee that every report will result in enforcement or that every violation will be identified immediately.

Serious violations may result in action without prior warning.

Clubhouse may retain limited moderation or enforcement records for the periods described in our Privacy Policy.

15. Suspended and Disabled Accounts

If an account is suspended or disabled:

• access to authenticated Clubhouse features may be blocked;
• content may become unavailable or less visible;
• notifications may no longer be delivered; and
• associated information may remain stored while the account state remains in effect.

Suspension or disabling is different from account deletion.

Where supported, Clubhouse moderators may later restore an account.

16. Prohibited Uses

In addition to conduct prohibited by the Community Guidelines, you may not:

• interfere with the normal operation of Clubhouse;
• attempt to bypass authentication or authorization controls;
• probe or exploit security vulnerabilities without authorization;
• overwhelm the service through abusive automated requests;
• scrape protected or non-public data without authorization;
• upload malicious software or code;
• misuse APIs or internal endpoints;
• attempt to obtain another user’s authentication credentials;
• circumvent moderation or account restrictions;
• use Clubhouse to facilitate fraud or unlawful activity; or
• use the service in a manner that materially harms Clubhouse, its users, or its infrastructure.

Reasonable ordinary use of publicly available pages is not prohibited merely because it involves automated technology such as a standard search-engine crawler.

17. Intellectual Property

Clubhouse and its underlying software, branding, visual design, logos, and other materials owned by Clubhouse are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These Terms do not grant you ownership of Clubhouse’s intellectual property.

You may not use Clubhouse branding in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or authorization.

Third-party names, trademarks, and content remain the property of their respective owners.

18. Copyright Complaints

Clubhouse respects intellectual-property rights.

If you believe content on Clubhouse infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, you may:

• use the applicable in-app reporting mechanism; or
• follow the complaint process at clubhouse.community/copyright.

Clubhouse may remove content or take account action where appropriate.

Clubhouse does not represent through these Terms that it has registered a designated U.S. DMCA agent or established a formal DMCA safe-harbour process.

19. Feedback

If you voluntarily send Clubhouse ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the service, you allow Clubhouse to use that feedback to evaluate or improve Clubhouse without an obligation to compensate you.

This does not transfer ownership of unrelated content you publish through ordinary Clubhouse features.

20. Account Deletion

Students and Clubs may permanently delete their account through Clubhouse Settings.

Account deletion is intended to be permanent.

When deletion completes, the primary account and associated account data are removed according to the deletion process described in our Privacy Policy.

Some limited records may remain temporarily where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal obligations, enforcement history, dispute resolution, or backup recovery.

21. Service Changes

Clubhouse is actively developed.

We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features.

We may also change technical requirements, supported devices, availability, limits, or integrations.

Where reasonably practical, we may provide notice of material changes that significantly affect users.

We do not promise that every current feature will remain available indefinitely.

22. Service Availability

We work to keep Clubhouse available and functioning, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Clubhouse may be unavailable because of:

• maintenance;
• software errors;
• hosting failures;
• third-party service outages;
• security incidents;
• moderation systems being unavailable;
• changes by Apple, Google, or other service providers; or
• circumstances outside our reasonable control.

You should not rely on Clubhouse as the sole source of information where missing or delayed information could create a serious safety, financial, academic, employment, or legal consequence.

23. No Guarantee of User Content

Clubhouse hosts information submitted by users and Clubs.

Except where expressly stated, Clubhouse does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, authenticity, legality, availability, or reliability of user-submitted content.

Views or statements expressed by users or Clubs do not necessarily represent Clubhouse.

You are responsible for evaluating information before relying on it.

24. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Clubhouse is provided on an “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee that:

• Clubhouse will always be available;
• every error will be corrected;
• every harmful item will be identified by moderation;
• every Event or Opportunity will occur as described;
• every user or Club is who they claim to be;
• an external service will operate correctly; or
• use of Clubhouse will result in a particular social, academic, employment, or other outcome.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, rights, or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

25. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Clubhouse and its operator will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from the use of Clubhouse where such liability may lawfully be limited.

Clubhouse is not responsible for losses caused solely by:

• conduct of another user;
• independently operated Events;
• external Opportunities;
• third-party websites;
• external payment, registration, or application services; or
• information a user voluntarily provides to those third parties,

except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including rights or remedies that applicable consumer-protection law makes mandatory.

26. Your Responsibility for Violations

You are responsible for your own conduct and content on Clubhouse.

If your intentional or unlawful misuse of Clubhouse causes a claim, loss, or expense, you may be responsible for the consequences to the extent provided by applicable law.

This section does not require you to indemnify Clubhouse for losses caused by Clubhouse’s own conduct or where such an obligation would be prohibited by law.

27. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how Clubhouse collects, uses, discloses, retains, and deletes personal information: clubhouse.community/privacy

Using Clubhouse necessarily involves certain processing required to provide the service.

Certain optional or third-party processing may require additional permission as described in the Privacy Policy.

28. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Clubhouse evolves or as legal, safety, operational, or product requirements change.

The current version will always be available at: clubhouse.community/terms

If we make a material change, Clubhouse may require you to accept the updated Terms before continuing to create or upload content.

Minor clarifications, formatting changes, or corrections may not require renewed acceptance.

The version you accept may be recorded with a timestamp.

29. Electronic Agreement

You agree that these Terms may be presented and accepted electronically.

Selecting the applicable acceptance control in Clubhouse is intended to indicate your agreement to the version of these Terms presented to you.

Clubhouse may retain an electronic record of the version and time of your acceptance.

30. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Subject to any rights you may have under mandatory consumer-protection or other applicable laws, disputes relating to these Terms or Clubhouse may be brought before courts of competent jurisdiction in British Columbia, Canada.

Nothing in this section prevents you from relying on mandatory rights or legal protections that apply to you in another jurisdiction.

31. Severability

If part of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally permitted.

32. No Waiver

If Clubhouse does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean the provision has been waived.

33. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the policies expressly incorporated into them, form the agreement governing your use of Clubhouse concerning the subjects they address.

The Community Guidelines establish the conduct rules applicable to Clubhouse.

The Privacy Policy describes Clubhouse’s handling of personal information and does not reduce rights provided to you under applicable privacy law.
