Clubhouse Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy

Version 1.0
Effective date: September 2026

Clubhouse respects copyright and other intellectual property rights.

This policy explains how to report content on Clubhouse that you believe infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, how RightToGo may respond to those reports, and the responsibilities of users who upload content.

Clubhouse is operated by RightToGo, based in British Columbia, Canada.

Copyright and intellectual property concerns may be sent to:

1. User Responsibility for Content

Clubhouse allows Students and Clubs to submit content such as:

  • profile information;
  • Club logos;
  • Events;
  • Opportunities;
  • Club Posts;
  • comments and replies;
  • photographs and other images; and
  • external links.

You should only upload or publish material that you have the right to use.

You must not knowingly use Clubhouse to infringe another person’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.

The fact that material is available elsewhere on the Internet does not necessarily mean that you have permission to copy or redistribute it.

Our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines contain additional rules governing user-submitted content.

2. Ownership of User Content

Users retain whatever ownership rights they have in content they submit to Clubhouse.

Submitting content to Clubhouse does not transfer ownership of that content to RightToGo.

Users grant Clubhouse the limited rights described in our Terms of Service that are necessary to host, process, display, distribute, moderate, and otherwise operate the service.

3. Clubhouse Intellectual Property

Clubhouse’s original software, branding, website content, interface designs, graphics, logos, and other materials owned by RightToGo may be protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property laws.

Except where expressly permitted, use of Clubhouse does not grant you ownership of those materials.

The absence of a formal copyright registration for a particular Clubhouse work does not, by itself, mean that the work is free to copy or use.

Third-party trademarks, names, images, software, and other materials remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

4. Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe content available through Clubhouse infringes copyright that you own or are authorized to enforce, you may contact:

Clubhouse Copyright Contact
Clubhouse.community2026@gmail.com

You may also use Clubhouse’s in-app reporting tools where available.

Please provide enough information for us to understand and investigate the complaint.

A useful copyright complaint should include:

  • your full name or the name of the rights holder you represent;
  • a way for us to contact you;
  • identification of the copyrighted work or other material you believe is being infringed;
  • an explanation of your ownership, authorization, or other relevant rights;
  • identification of the Clubhouse content you believe is infringing;
  • a URL, Event, Opportunity, Post, account, or other information that helps us locate the material;
  • an explanation of why you believe the use is unauthorized or infringing;
  • the date or approximate period when you observed the material, where useful; and
  • a statement that the information in your complaint is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Do not send passwords, authentication credentials, unnecessary identification documents, or unrelated sensitive personal information.

5. Complaints Submitted by Representatives

If you are submitting a complaint on behalf of another person or organization, please identify:

  • the rights holder;
  • your relationship to the rights holder; and
  • the basis on which you are authorized to act for them.

RightToGo may request additional information where reasonably necessary to understand that authorization.

6. What Happens After a Complaint

After receiving a sufficiently detailed complaint, RightToGo may review:

  • the material identified in the complaint;
  • information supplied by the complainant;
  • relevant Clubhouse records;
  • contextual information;
  • information from the user or Club responsible for the content; and
  • other information reasonably relevant to the issue.

Depending on the circumstances, RightToGo may:

  • request additional information;
  • leave the material available while the complaint is evaluated;
  • restrict, archive, mask, or remove content;
  • notify the affected user or Club;
  • resolve or dismiss an in-app report;
  • suspend or disable an account where appropriate; or
  • take another reasonable step required by applicable law.

Submitting a copyright complaint does not guarantee that content will be removed.

RightToGo may decline to act where a complaint does not provide enough information to identify the work, rights claimed, or allegedly infringing material.

7. Context and Lawful Uses

Not every use of copyrighted material is infringement.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, a use may be authorized by:

  • the copyright owner;
  • a licence;
  • fair dealing or another statutory exception;
  • applicable user-generated-content provisions;
  • the public domain; or
  • another lawful basis.

RightToGo may consider relevant context when reviewing a complaint but does not act as a court and cannot conclusively determine every copyright dispute.

If ownership or infringement is genuinely disputed, the parties may need to resolve that dispute through appropriate legal processes.

8. False or Misleading Complaints

Copyright complaints must be made in good faith.

Do not knowingly submit materially false information or use the copyright process to:

  • harass another person;
  • suppress lawful criticism;
  • retaliate against another user or Club;
  • interfere with legitimate competition;
  • impersonate a rights holder; or
  • obtain confidential or personal information without a legitimate basis.

Abuse of Clubhouse’s reporting systems may itself violate our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.

9. Response From an Affected User

If RightToGo contacts you because content you submitted has been challenged, you may provide information that you believe is relevant to the complaint.

For example, you may explain that:

  • you created the content;
  • you have permission from the rights holder;
  • you hold an applicable licence;
  • the material is in the public domain;
  • your use is otherwise authorized by law; or
  • the complaint identifies the wrong content or account.

RightToGo may consider that information when deciding what action to take.

This process is an internal review process and is not represented as a formal statutory counter-notice procedure.

10. Repeated Copyright Violations

Repeated or serious infringement may result in additional enforcement.

Depending on the circumstances, RightToGo may consider:

  • previous copyright reports;
  • previous removals;
  • repeated publication of substantially similar infringing material;
  • attempts to evade previous enforcement; and
  • the seriousness of the conduct.

Repeated or serious violations may result in content removal, suspension, or account disabling under our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

A previous complaint alone does not automatically establish that infringement occurred.

11. Trademarks and Other Intellectual Property

This complaint process may also be used for concerns involving trademarks or other intellectual property.

When making such a complaint, provide:

  • the right you claim;
  • information supporting your ownership or authority;
  • the Clubhouse content at issue; and
  • an explanation of the alleged violation.

Trademark disputes can depend heavily on context. RightToGo may request additional information before taking action.

12. Personal Information in Copyright Complaints

Copyright complaints may contain personal information about the complainant, the affected user, or both.

RightToGo may use that information to:

  • investigate the complaint;
  • identify relevant content;
  • communicate with the parties;
  • enforce Clubhouse policies;
  • maintain appropriate moderation records; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

Information associated with copyright reports may be retained according to the moderation and safety retention practices described in our Privacy Policy.

We will not intentionally disclose unnecessary personal information simply because a copyright complaint has been submitted.

This page provides a practical way to report intellectual property concerns to RightToGo.

It does not represent that RightToGo:

  • is registered as a designated DMCA agent in the United States;
  • has established a formal U.S. DMCA notice-and-counter-notice program; or
  • guarantees that every complaint submitted through this page satisfies the requirements of a particular statute or jurisdiction.

A rights holder who needs to deliver a particular form of legal notice remains responsible for ensuring that the notice satisfies applicable legal requirements.

Nothing in this policy limits obligations RightToGo may have under applicable law.

14. Changes to This Policy

RightToGo may update this policy as Clubhouse evolves, our complaint processes change, or applicable requirements change.
