Clubhouse Community Guidelines

Version 1.0
Effective date: September 2026

Clubhouse is a university community platform where students and clubs can discover events and opportunities, share updates, connect with others, and participate in campus life.

These Community Guidelines describe the standards that apply when you use Clubhouse. They apply to profiles, Events, Opportunities, Club Posts, comments, replies, images, links, reports, and other content or activity on the service.

By using Clubhouse, you agree to follow these Guidelines as well as our Terms of Service.

Our goal is simple: make Clubhouse useful, welcoming, and safe for the university communities using it.

1. Treat People With Respect

Do not harass, bully, intimidate, shame, or deliberately target other people.

This includes:

  • repeated unwanted contact or targeting;
  • personal attacks intended to humiliate or intimidate someone;
  • encouraging others to harass a person or group;
  • abusive comments or posts;
  • threats intended to frighten or pressure someone; and
  • coordinated harassment.

Disagreement, criticism, and debate are allowed. Personal abuse is not.

2. Hate and Discrimination

Do not post or promote content that attacks, dehumanizes, threatens, or encourages hatred against people based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar protected characteristics.

Content that discusses discrimination, prejudice, or controversial issues for legitimate educational, news, or contextual purposes may be treated differently from content intended to attack or demean people.

3. Threats, Violence, and Dangerous Conduct

Do not use Clubhouse to:

  • threaten violence or physical harm;
  • encourage others to commit violence;
  • celebrate or promote serious violence against individuals or groups;
  • coordinate dangerous activity;
  • provide credible instructions intended to facilitate serious physical harm; or
  • make threats against a university, club, event, individual, or community.

We may take immediate action where content appears to present a serious safety risk.

4. Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation

Clubhouse has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Do not create, upload, request, distribute, promote, facilitate, or link to:

  • child sexual abuse material;
  • sexual content involving minors;
  • grooming or sexual solicitation of minors;
  • sextortion involving minors;
  • trafficking or exploitation of children;
  • attempts to obtain sexual images or material from minors; or
  • content that facilitates or encourages the sexual abuse or exploitation of children.

We may remove such material, disable involved accounts, preserve information where appropriate for safety or legal purposes, and make reports to appropriate authorities where required.

More information is available in our Child Safety Standards at clubhouse.community/safety.

5. Sexual and Inappropriate Content

Do not use Clubhouse to distribute pornography, explicit sexual content, or content whose primary purpose is sexual solicitation.

Do not post sexual content involving another person without their consent.

Clubhouse is designed around university community participation, Events, Opportunities, Clubs, and social activity. Content that is substantially unrelated to that purpose and is primarily explicit or sexually exploitative may be removed.

6. Spam, Scams, and Deceptive Activity

Do not use Clubhouse to mislead, defraud, manipulate, or spam other users.

Examples include:

  • phishing;
  • fraudulent Events or Opportunities;
  • fake giveaways;
  • deceptive payment or application links;
  • repeated unsolicited promotional content;
  • pyramid or similar fraudulent schemes;
  • malicious links;
  • attempts to obtain passwords, authentication codes, or financial credentials; and
  • intentionally misleading people about who is organizing an Event or Opportunity.

Clubs are responsible for keeping the information they publish reasonably accurate.

7. Impersonation and Misrepresentation

Do not impersonate another person, Club, organization, university group, or entity in a misleading way.

Do not falsely claim authorization, affiliation, verification, or sponsorship that you do not have.

Parody or commentary should not be presented in a way that is reasonably likely to deceive people about the account’s identity.

8. Privacy and Personal Information

Respect other people’s privacy.

Do not post or distribute another person’s sensitive or private information without appropriate permission.

This may include:

  • home addresses;
  • private phone numbers or email addresses;
  • authentication credentials;
  • financial information;
  • private records;
  • intimate images;
  • identification documents; or
  • other information that could reasonably expose someone to harassment, fraud, or harm.

Do not use Clubhouse to dox, stalk, or facilitate the targeting of another person.

Information that a person or organization has intentionally made public may be treated differently depending on context and potential harm.

9. Illegal or Dangerous Activity

Do not use Clubhouse to organize, promote, facilitate, or meaningfully assist unlawful or seriously dangerous activity.

This includes content intended to facilitate fraud, exploitation, serious physical harm, trafficking, or other unlawful conduct.

Clubhouse may restrict or remove content where we reasonably believe it creates a serious safety or legal risk.

10. Intellectual Property and Copyright

Only upload or share content that you have the right to use.

Do not knowingly infringe another person’s:

  • copyright;
  • trademark;
  • publicity rights; or
  • other intellectual property rights.

If you believe content on Clubhouse infringes your rights, you can report it in the app or follow the process at: clubhouse.community/copyright

Copyright reports should be made in good faith.

Clubhouse allows Clubs to publish Events and Opportunities and, in some cases, link to external registration, application, or payment services.

Do not use these features to:

  • publish knowingly false or fraudulent listings;
  • misrepresent the organizer;
  • disguise malicious or deceptive links;
  • collect information through deceptive means; or
  • direct users to unlawful or harmful services.

Clubhouse does not process payments for externally paid Events or Opportunities simply because pricing or an external payment link appears on Clubhouse.

Users should review the terms and practices of external services before providing information or making payments to them.

12. Do Not Abuse Reporting or Safety Tools

Reporting and blocking features exist to help keep Clubhouse safe.

Do not intentionally misuse them to:

  • harass another person;
  • repeatedly submit knowingly false reports;
  • manipulate moderation against someone;
  • retaliate against another user; or
  • interfere with legitimate use of Clubhouse.

A report being dismissed does not necessarily mean it was abusive. We may take action where there is evidence of deliberate misuse.

13. Automated Safety Moderation

Clubhouse uses automated systems to help identify potentially harmful or prohibited content.

Certain public-facing text and images may be reviewed using automated safety services, including OpenAI, before they are accepted or published. Other types of text may be checked using moderation systems operated within Clubhouse’s infrastructure.

Automated systems can make mistakes. Their use does not guarantee that prohibited content will always be detected or that permitted content will never be incorrectly blocked.

More information about how this processing works and how information is handled is available in our Privacy Policy: clubhouse.community/privacy

14. Reporting Content or Accounts

If you see content or activity that you believe violates these Guidelines, use the reporting tools available in Clubhouse.

Reports may cover concerns including:

  • harassment or bullying;
  • hate;
  • threats or violence;
  • sexual or inappropriate content;
  • spam or scams;
  • impersonation;
  • privacy or personal information;
  • illegal or dangerous activity;
  • copyright concerns; or
  • other violations.

Reports may include information about the reported content so that the issue can be reviewed.

You can also contact us at: Clubhouse.community2026@gmail.com

If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services rather than relying solely on an in-app report.

15. Blocking

Clubhouse provides blocking features for supported social interactions.

Blocking is intended to help users limit unwanted interactions and visibility between accounts.

Do not attempt to evade another person’s block through alternate accounts or other deliberate workarounds.

16. How We Enforce These Guidelines

When we determine that content or activity violates these Guidelines, Clubhouse may take action appropriate to the circumstances.

Depending on the situation, this may include:

  • removing, masking, or archiving content;
  • dismissing or resolving a report;
  • suspending an account;
  • disabling an account; or
  • taking other action necessary to protect the service or comply with applicable law.

The appropriate action may depend on factors such as:

  • the nature of the violation;
  • severity;
  • context;
  • potential harm;
  • repeated behavior; and
  • relevant account or content history.

We do not guarantee a particular outcome from a report.

We may preserve certain moderation and enforcement records for a limited period where reasonably necessary for safety, accountability, legal obligations, or enforcement history, as described in our Privacy Policy.

17. Account and Content Removal

A user’s ability to access Clubhouse may be restricted when an account is suspended or disabled.

Content may also become unavailable because:

  • its author deleted it;
  • the owning Club deleted it;
  • an Event or Opportunity was archived;
  • an account was deleted;
  • moderation action was taken; or
  • the content no longer qualifies for a particular public surface.

Past Events or Opportunities may remain available where they continue to meet Clubhouse’s public-content rules.

18. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines as Clubhouse evolves, new safety concerns arise, or our rules need clarification.

Material changes may require users to accept an updated version before continuing to create or upload content.

Minor clarifications, formatting changes, or corrections may not require renewed acceptance.

The current version will always be available at: clubhouse.community/community-guidelines
